Career Center and Career Coach Information |

The Warhill Career Information Center is located off the Student Commons in Room 1030. The Career Center contains printed reference materials, computer software programs, and Internet sites that provide information on two-and-four-year colleges, vocational/technical schools, civilian and military careers, SAT and ACT test preparation, and financial aid.
Warhill’s Career Center is staffed by Suzy Lindley, Career Coach, Thomas Nelson Community College. Mrs. Lindley is available to assist any Warhill student with career planning. Students can use the Career Center resources or speak to Mrs. Lindley during lunch, after school, or during class periods with a pass from their teacher. Mrs. Lindley’s office hours vary, but are usually Monday – Thursday, 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Students and parents may also make an appointment by calling 565-4615, extension 11030 or email lindleys@wjcc.k12.va.us
The Career Coach can help students:
- Develop Career Plans that will allow them to follow their academic interests and prepare for education and opportunities after high school
- Explore careers and take assessments
- Navigate college and career web sites
- Answer questions about applying to 2- or 4- year colleges
- Learn how to apply for financial aid
- Develop job search skills including: interviewing, networking, and resume writing
- Learn more about the programs offered through Thomas Nelson Community College and guide them through the application process

| Career Assessments |
The following career assessments are offered to Warhill High School students at no cost. It is strongly recommended that you make an appointment with the Career Coach to discuss results from any assessment!
Virginia Education Wizard – Students can take interest, skills, & values assessments. The Wizard contains a number of tools to help users explore careers, plan education, pay for college and much more. Students can take the assessment on-line at home or in the Career Center.
ASVAB Career Exploration Program – A comprehensive career planning program that includes a multiple-aptitude test battery, an interest inventory, and various career planning tools. The ASVAB is offered at Warhill each year. |
