Toano Students Recognized for Diverse Works of Art
There were 51 entries from Toano Middle School students to the PTA’s Reflections Contest, reported organizer Ms. Mattie Coven, a parent volunteer. This year’s theme was “Diversity is…” Students were urged to dig deep into their creative self and to share works of art, literature, dance and music based upon their interpretation of the theme. High honors went to three Toano Middle School students who excelled at the imaginative challenge presented to them.

Nominations Sought For 2012 Teacher of the Year
Which teacher has had the biggest influence in your, or your student’s, life? Which one has gone above and beyond the call of duty in ensuring that students get the best education possible? School Hours: School officially begins at 7:20 AM and ends at 2:20 PM. Students should report directly to homeroom. Please do not drop your child off before 7:10 AM, since there will be no adult supervision until 7:10 AM. If students arrive late to school, they must report to the main office to obtain a pass to class
Out Sick? Planning a Vacation and need Make-up Work? Please notify the attendance associate about the absence.
Parents may request homework/make-up work for their student by calling guidance at 566-4251 or via email joynerp@wjcc.k12.va.us. . Homework/make-up requests will be processed within 24 hours. All student work will be available for pick up the next day in the Front Office between 1:30 pm – 3: 00 pm. Also, please notify the Attendance Associate, Susan O’Connor at 566-4251 (press 1 for attendance, press 2 for guidance, press 3 for the nurse, and press 0 for the front office).
