
Jamestown High School is located between the renowned historical areas, Colonial Williamsburg, and Jamestown. In its first year, fall 1997, this new high school is intent upon creating a history indicative of the area in which it is located. It was an exciting year for faculty and student body alike with the creation and initiation of firsts that developed its personality, and in the long run, its traditions.
With the eagle as mascot Jamestown High School has focused its theme on the "the sky" as its limit. Whether the high school is involved in innovative scheduling with the 4 x 4 block or setting school standards in conjunction with "The High Schools That Work" agenda Jamestown, even as a new school, is in the forefront with innovation and timely practices.
Students graduating from Jamestown High School in Williamsburg, Virginia will show its mark of distinction whether their career goals have been largely academic with college plans in the future, or technical with aspirations for the business world at graduation. It offers a comprehensive curriculum in 14 subject areas for 1101 students of a diverse population. Advanced courses are provided in most subject areas. The school uses a semester block schedule in which students can earn four full credits per semester. The athletic program offers many opportunities to participate.
