Rawls Byrd Elementary School is a K-5 school with a pre-school program called Bright Beginnings. Our enrollment runs approximately 550 students each year.
In 1993, we were one of two elementary schools in Virginia earning the U.S. Department of Education's Blue Ribbon School award. We are proud of that distinction and will continue to provide our students with the best possible educational opportunities. 
Our mission is to promote life long learners with emphasis on reading, learning math and enjoying language arts. Our goal is to have our school as the most exciting cultural arts center anywhere. Most of our goals are met because of our wonderful student body, supportive parents, great PTA and great resource area.
