Theresa Redd Appointed Interim Principal at Jamestown High School
Theresa N. Redd, who joined WJCC in 2007 as the principal of Toano Middle School before accepting the position of Social Studies Coordinator, has been appointed as Jamestown High School’s interim principal, Superintendent Dr. Steve Constantino has announced.
Ms. Redd assumes the position vacated by Parke Land, who resigned Jan. 13 citing health considerations.
“During this transitional time at Jamestown High School, we needed a leader who understands our current issues and who could continue to provide steady leadership as seamlessly as possible,” Dr. Constantino said. “As we continue our search for a permanent principal, I am confident that Ms. Redd will provide that leadership.”
Redd came to WJCC from Loudoun County (VA) Public Schools, where she served since 2002 as principal of the highest performing middle school in the county. During her career, Ms. Redd served for more than 18 years as principal and teacher in the West Point Public School Division, 4½ years as principal of a middle school in the Spotsylvania Public School Division, and four years at the Virginia Department of Education.
She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from the College of William & Mary.
