WJCC School Board Clerk Janet Cerza Presented Plaque In Appreciation Of Support

The WJCC School Board recognized its School Board Clerk, Janet Cerza, at its regular meeting Jan. 17 for her ongoing support of Board activities in observance of School Board Clerk Appreciation Week Feb. 12-18.

Every year in February, The Virginia School Boards Association designates the third week of the month as School Board Clerks Appreciation Week.  Every school division throughout the Commonwealth appoints a School Board Clerk who keep accurate records of the meetings and proceedings of the school board, a record of all receipts and disbursements, and a record of all official acts; and maintain frequent contact with the public, including parents, employees and the media, on behalf of the school board and superintendent

School board clerks are often required to work extra hours attending school board meetings; and they play pivotal role in helping to ensure that students achieve their highest potential.  They also notify and schedule school board members for their training and development needs. They provide an invaluable service for school boards and superintendents.
