Warhill HS Students Learn Importance Of Historic Research At Jamestowne Island
Students at Warhill High School taking Advanced Placement U.S. History and English traveled to Historic Jamestowne Island recently where representatives from Preservation Virginia led them on a guided tour of the site. The focus of the tour was on current archeological projects being conducted on the island. The purpose of the trip was for students to “see” historical research and consider how artifact analysis promotes a fuller understanding of colonial history. Afterwards, students made a quick trip to Jamestown Settlement where they visited the fort, ships, and the Powhatan Indian village.
