Blayton, Berkeley Students Collect Items For Area Food Banks
Two WJCC schools recently collected non-perishable foods to supplement the supplies of area food banks to help those in need. The J. Blaine Blayton Elementary PTA, in cooperation with the Student Council Association, collected food for Williamsburg's FISH. The project was a huge success, with nearly 2,400 food items collected (about 240 bags of groceries). Berkeley Middle students donated 867 items to the Virginia Peninsula Food Bank, which were picked up and delivered to the community in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.
