James River Third Graders Get Multi-Faceted Chesapeake Experience At Little Creek Reservoir
James River Elementary third grade students traveled to Little Creek Reservoir in Toano recently to participate in a natural habitat excursion with Chesapeake Experience Inc. They studied grasses, birds, and marine life from the unique perspective of kayaks low in the water. Students also participated in an on-shore scavenger hunt observing various species of plants and animals in their natural habitat. This highly interactive field trip was sponsored by the PTA and created an authentic learning experience for the students.
