Recipient Date Recognition
Scott Gardner
05.14.09

Congratulations to Scott Gardner on being selected as the WJCC Service Star Award recipient for May 2009!  The person that nominated you said the following:

“Scott has done extensive work in my special education classroom.  Since September, Scot has travelled out to my room no less than 15 times for a variety of unusual requests and repairs.  It is not an easy room to work in because of the special and sensitive needs of my students.  Scott always comes in quietly and lets the students warm up to him at their pace.  He has discretion and compassion for their needs.  I am amazed at how fast he gets every job done, but I am most impressed by the heart that he puts into the work for the students.  He takes the time to consider their lives and how to accommodate their challenges.  I want him to know that while the students cannot speak the words, their lives are enriched because of the things that he has built and fixed for them.  WJCC Schools is luck to have Scott working with us!”

Your daily interaction with students and staff exemplifies the type of service that we want to promote throughout the school division.  Thank you so much for all that you do.

She performs several jobs within the department- usually two at a time, with ease.  She willingly pitches in, she welcomes change, and she is a quadruple-multi-tasker!  In the past 5 ½ years, Monica has consistently provided exceptional customer service to all internal and external customers.  She always has a smile on her face, performs all jobs with perfection, and she treats all employees, parent and visitors with the utmost respect.  Monica will adjust her working hours for the department’s needs.  She is a devoted employee, and is a true professional in every sense.  Every employee at WJCC should strive to obtain Monica’s work ethic, accuracy, integrity and positive energy- she sets the standard for the rest of us.”

Your daily dedication to service and positive attitude exemplify all of the traits that WJCC strives to promote throughout the division.  These attributes make it a pleasure to work for and with you.

Lesley Carlson and Claudia Christner
12.08.08

Congratulations on being selected as the WJCC Service Star Award recipients for November 2008!  The person that nominated you said the following:

“With their creative talent, Lesley Carlson and Claudia Christner designed and crafted banners for all of the school cafeterias in the WJCC District.  Each school held a “Name the School Cafeteria Contest” at the end of the 2007-08 school year and selected a winner.

Ms. Carlson and Ms. Christner gathered each school’s colors, mascot, new cafeteria name, and selected materials to design the banners.  They sewed the banners and nine are currently hanging the school cafeterias.  They look amazing!

In my opinion, this terrific task promotes a “Positive Customer Service” atmosphere with décor in all school cafeterias throughout the division.  It definitely promotes school spirit for the students during their lunch periods.  Although I have never met Ms. Carlson or Ms. Christner it is this type of talent and dedication we notice and must recognize to let others know how proud we are of our school division!”

It is with great pleasure that we present the Service Star Award to you.  We appreciate and honor your spirit of service and dedication to “making a difference in the life of a child”.

Michael Greene
9-14-08

Congratulations on being selected as the WJCC Service Star Award recipient for October 2008!  The person that nominated you said the following:

“It is my pleasure to nominate Mr. Greene for the WJC Customer Service Award as he continually provides outstanding customer service to the staff, students and parents of Matthew Whaley.  He is to be commended for his hard work, patience, and interpersonal skills as he navigated the timelines, obstacles and delays which presented themselves during the refurbishment process.  Delays made his job more difficult but Mr. Green and his staff worked tirelessly to prepare for a successful Open House and opening day.

Mr. Greene has been an outstanding liaison between the architects, contractors and the administration.  He earned the respect of all parties for the pride he takes in his work and his attention to detail.

Mr. Greene is always available to assist staff, parents, and students.  He is interrupted constantly throughout the day with requests but is always cheerful, polite, and prompt.  He is very supportive of the PTA and is attentive to their needs when they are setting up for events.  He interacts positively with our students and was recently overheard asking a child how his summer was and how many books he had read over the summer.

Mr. Greene truly goes the “extra mile” to support Matthew Whaley and provides outstanding customer service.  Many people comment on how beautiful the building looks and how well it is maintained.”

Your daily interaction with students, staff, and parents exemplifies the type of service that we want to promote throughout the school division.  Thank you so much for all that you do.

Mary Lou Patterson

Congratulations on being selected as the first WJCC Service Star Award recipient!  The person that nominated you said the following:

“Mary Lou Patterson provides exceptional customer service to her customers- teachers, students, parents and faculty- at Jamestown High School.  As students apply for parking passes, Mary Lou delivers prompt (in most cases 1 day or same day) service and notifies parents and students when the parking permit has been approved.  She always provides a courteous and pleasant tone and demeanor even when dealing with difficult issues.  When discussing with Mary Lou how JHS could welcome back our drivers, she immediately volunteered to bake muffins for them.  Because of Mary Lou’s efforts, on the first day of school each bus driver at Jamestown High School was given a muffin to welcome them back.  We appreciate Mary Lou’s dedication and her willingness to go the extra mile for our team.  Mary Lou Patterson is a gem to Jamestown High School.”

Your daily interaction with students, staff, and parents exemplifies the type of service that we want to promote throughout the school division.  Thank you so much for all that you do.
