WJCC Operations: Child Nutrition Services

Welcome to the Child Nutrition Services division of Operations . Our Child Nutrition Team includes dedicated cafeteria managers and kitchen staff that prepare and serve over 1000 breakfasts and 4100 lunches daily!  Every day we offer fresh, nutritious, and appealing meals to our students to help them reach their full academic potential.

*  Child Nutrition Services (CNS) and the School Health Initiative Program (SHIP) have partnered to bring healthier choices to the school cafeterias and vending machines.

*  The Child Nutrition Services Strategic Plan is well on its way to being implemented.

• Schools have increased offerings of whole grains.
• Schools have eliminated offerings of fried foods.
• Schools have increased the variety of fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables offered.
• Schools have replaced whole-milk cheese/cheese products with low-fat cheese/cheese products.
• Schools have decreased the amount of trans fats in foods served.
• Schools have increased the percent of fruit juice in juice drinks.
• Schools continue to offer reduced fat, low-fat, and non-fat milk beverages.
