The Office of Accountability and Assessment operates under the direction of the Supervisor of Assessment as direct support to the Senior Administrators, central office and school based administrators.

WJCC’s AYP results, based on student performance on Standards of Learning (SOL) tests during the 2010-11 school year, have been released by the Virginia Department of Education.  D.J.     The American College Testing (ACT) assesses high school students' general educational development and their ability to complete college level work in English, math, reading and science.

    Advanced Placement courses are college-level courses offered by trained high school teachers in the regular high school setting. AP courses guarantee rigor in our classrooms. AP students take the AP exams in May of each year. Successful scores on AP exams can result in credit for course work in colleges and universities

    WJCC uses Interactive Achievement to create quarterly online multiple-choice curriculum-based assessments that are closely aligned with the Virginia Standards of Learning in grades 2-8 for reading, math and science.

    Assessing Comprehension and Communication in English State-to-State for English Language Learners (Access for ELLS) is a large-scale test that addresses the academic  English language proficiency (ELP) standards at the core of the WIDA Consortium’s approach to instructing and evaluating the progress of English language learners.

    Phonological Awareness Literacy Screening for K-2 students and selected 3rd graders

    Cognitive Abilities Test is given to 2nd graders to screen for gifted and emerging scholars program and to help principals cluster students in 3rd & 4th grade classes.
