| Course Description |
This course, for computer literate teachers, is designed to combine principles of instructional design with skills for technology integration. The course will focus on five key areas: the teacher, the student, the technology, the lesson, and the classroom environment. Current research models for planning and technology integration will be explored and practical ideas for implementing these models will be discussed. The course will be approximately 60% lecture/ discussion and 40% hands on. The hands-on component will provide teachers with opportunities to use and explore existing hardware, software and Internet resources – including Web 2.0 tools - in order to incorporate them into the design process. Each teacher will be expected to use course information to design an instructional unit that effectively integrates technology as a tool for enhancing the learning environment. |
