Click on the link above to view a famous magic trick. It wasn’t performed by Houdini, David Copperfield, or the Amazing Kreskin. It’s performed by a computer. It will be your job to discover how the computer works its “magic”.   Then you will create your own version of the trick and demonstrate it to the class.

The computer isn't a magician however. It can't really read your mind, but it can make the things you do easier, faster, and more fun. Although computers look smart, believe it or not, they cannot think for themselves.   They have to follow orders – your orders!

First you have to understand how we communicate with the computer and how the computer translates our language into its own.   Most languages have many symbols, but the computer only understands 2 symbols or states. How c
an we get the computer to do so many different things using only 2 symbols? The secret! Think BINARY !
